Floating Flower Centerpieces

Floating flower centerpieces are a beautiful way to decorate the reception tables at your wedding reception. They are also very quick and easy to produce. Many brides have done this themselves, thereby saving on florist’s costs.

You can produce a simple floating centerpiece as in the photo above, with very little effort. The flowers in the vase above are carnations and chrysanthemums. The striking colors complement each other very well.

Other flowers that can be used in a floating flower arrangement include roses, gerberas and cymbidium orchids. You can have them by themselves or you can choose to add some floating candles. One advantage of having candles is that they help to light up and show off the natural beauty of the flowers.

Vases for Floating Flower Centerpieces

A popular choice of vase for floating flower centerpieces is the shallow dish-type of vase that you see in the photo above. If you want to also have candles, it is worth checking that you vase will be able to stand the heat. There are special vases that are made for floating candle displays if you’re unsure.

Another vase that you could use is the ‘goldfish bowl’ or globe vase. These elegant spherical vases look beautiful on the tables at weddings.
