To capture the essence of the fall theme, try to have the right colors in your decorations. These flowers above are great for a fall wedding as they have rich shades of red, yellow and orange. The flowers here are roses, ranunculus, freesias and hypericum berries.

You can make fall flower decorations by using large candles surrounded by flowers (as in the photo above). Alternatively you could recreate the look of fallen leaves around a candle. You could either use real leaves that you have collected or artificial leaves.

A trick that I like to use is a candle surrounded by potpourri, as seen in the photo above. This gives the feel of autumn and looks very professional, rather than something that the kids put together. Don’t add the artificial fragrance, as this may be a little overpowering while people are eating.
Other ideas for fall wedding decorations include using leaf-shaped floating candles in a shallow dish and putting fall themed wedding favors together in the centre of the table.
You could also use real or replica items that may have fallen from a tree. These include apples and ‘conkers’ (horsechestnuts).
